Lost Adventures DLC for Orcs Must Die available today

Robot Entertainment has today made available the second DLC pack for Orcs Must Die on Steam. This DLC pack is perfect for those who have completed the main campaign and are looking for some extra challenges. This DLC pack includes 5 new exciting fortresses to play, four of which are completely new and original and one is the reverse of one of my favourite levels “The Tower” where the Orcs will now be heading down hill rather than up! Each of these levels can be played on all three difficulty settings which also means there is room for an extra 50 extra skulls to collect – perfect to upgrade your entire set of traps from the last DLC! The new levels appear as a separate campaign in-game so you can also enjoy them if you havnt yet finished unlocking the main campaign levels. Read moreRead more

Orcs Must Die! XBLA Review

So the date is finally upon us – October 5th the release date of Orcs Must Die! (OMD) on Xbox Live Arcade. I have been playing OMD! over the last few days and have been extremely impressed with the game. OMD is the first original IP game to be launched by Robot Entertainment. For a number of people at the studio who worked previously at Ensemble this is the first game outside of the traditional RTS field. For those people this game is a breath of fresh air allowing for a new type creativity to flourish, and it certainly has done. OMD is a third person action strategy game. The goal of the game is simple – kill Orcs, kill them in any way you can. Players can choose between weapons, traps and magic to do the job. The Orcs must be killed before a certain number reach the rifts at the other end of the level. Otherwise its game over! Read moreRead more

Orcs Must Die prequel comic available for download!

The creative minds at Robot Entertainment have now released the prequel comic book for Orcs Must Die! The comic takes readers through the prequel back story and tells us all about the history of the important rifts and how the Orcs came to ravage the land. It also tells us alot about the kind of character the war mage is and his history.

I’m not going to spoil it too much as you really should check the comic out – its full of humor too! Not only does the comic detail the back story up to where the game starts – it also has a bunch of exclusive artwork from some of the bots at Robot and some community art pieces. It’s really interesting to see how different artists can paint different pictures of the Orcs Must Die world.

AOE-O patch detailed, Dusty interviewed and first Orcs Must Die video blog!

Ian Vogel the design lead at Microsoft of Age of Empires Online has announced an overview of the  upcoming patch to Age of Empires Online. This patch has been in great demand of the community and the pressure has been on to develop this patch quickly. There has been some dis-content with the Age Online community about how long this patch has taken to develop and how it has potentially impacted on player numbers. Age of Empires Online was pitched as an “evergreen” game with the possibility of regular updates, its been a shame that updates thus far havent been pushed out in speedy time. Hopefully in order to ensure community continuity patches will be smaller and faster to release rather than this first patch which appears to be pretty large. There is indeed alot coming in this patch, from gear changes to PvP and Crete. Also mentioned in Ian’s latest post is that the Persians will soon be on their way as a playable civilisation, they are currently on schedule for October, so look out for them soon!
